Here’s a look at the must-visit markets confirmed for this year, promising unique gifts, delicious food and unforgettable festive fun.

Chatsworth House Christmas Market

Christmas truly begins early at the magnificent Chatsworth House. Starting on Saturday, November 8th, the house will be transformed into ‘The Enchanted Garden’ and will host a spectacular Christmas Market until January 4th.

What to Expect: Over 100 high-quality exhibitors will offer festive-themed gifts, artisanal food, and warming drinks, all set against the backdrop of one of England’s most beautiful stately homes.

Access: Tickets must be booked in advance and are priced from £36 for adults and £10 for children. Your ticket is an all-access pass, granting admission to the house, garden, farmyard, playground, and parking.

Matlock Victorian Christmas Market (30th Anniversary)

Step back in time at the beloved Matlock Victorian Christmas Market, marking its 30th anniversary! This free, historic event takes place from the first Friday of December and is a true celebration of festive tradition.

When: Friday, December 5th to Sunday, December 7th.

What to Expect: Explore over 200 traditional stalls offering unique handmade crafts, gifts, artisan treats, and seasonal fashion. The weekend is packed with live entertainment, a fun fair, and the chance for children to meet Santa in his Grotto.

Bakewell Christmas Market

The picturesque town of Bakewell hosts a vibrant and free Christmas Market that is perfect for a festive weekend outing.

When: Saturday, November 15th and Sunday, November 16th (9am to 5pm).

What to Expect: Over 100 stalls will be scattered throughout the town. Enjoy hot food, traditional mulled wine, or opt for cold beers and local artisan cheese. Entertainment will be provided throughout the weekend by local brass and silver bands, choirs, and DJs, ensuring a lively atmosphere.

Mercatum Winter at Haddon Hall

For a truly historical festive experience, visit the Mercatum Winter Market held at the stunning Haddon Hall near Bakewell.

When: Wednesday to Sunday, from November 12th to December 14th.

What to Expect: This renowned Mercatum event attracts over 180 talented artisans and makers, offering beautiful, high-quality products that make perfect gifts.
