Perfect cottage for Peak District walking We stayed for 3 nights at the Ollerenshaw cottage for 2. Whilst small it was perfect for a cosy base for Peak District walking. It was very well equipped with high end items and the welcome bag of goodies was lovely. The honesty shop was a lovely idea and included some luxury goods. The possibility of doing laundry is a bonus if out on muddy walks and the possibility of bike hire is a great idea. My husband did lots of walks from the cottage each evening while I cooked dinner. The glorious weather meant that we could sit out each evening watching the sunset with a glass of wine. We would definitely recommend this place as it also had great communication from the owners and it was a good central place for great Peak District walks.

Had a 2 night break with the kids at Wheeldon Trees. They loved the top bedroom in Nadin Cottage since they could spy on us parents below. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed and more. The welcome tote bag was fab. We made use of the supplies in the games room and the kids had a good go on the outdoor play area on the second morning - the first day was too wet unfortunately! We will definitely look at coming back.

We booked last minute & stayed in the Walker's Rest. Really great communication with Hazel. Beautiful location & wonderful cottage, with everything you need for your stay. Quality everywhere from furniture to fixtures & fittings. Welcome pack with good advice on walks & food. We ate at The Royal Oak & it was excellent, only a 5 minute drive away. The well stocked shop, with honesty box to little freebies like fruit or sauce. The long room with games & bikes to use for free. We honestly couldn't fault anything & can say that we loved every single moment staying here, we came away feeling like we had had a lovely break. We will definitely return.

Walker's Rest - beautiful cottages, set in stunning location. Superb, comfortable cottages. Fully fitted with everything & more that you need from the well equipped kitchen, cosy living room, bathroom toiletries, fixtures, fittings & excellent bedding. The welcome tote bag & goodies were amazing! The boot area was so well thought out. Free bikes to use, games room, fully stocked honesty shop was such a great idea. We had the best time & the best weather, going for walks, enjoying the tranquility, scenery & bird song. Wheeldon Hill is a great steep up & down hill, right on the doorstep, make sure you go up & watch the sunset, truly stunning on a clear evening. We travelled further out to Mam Tor, Bakewell, Matlock, Bamford Edge & the ice cream dairy farm. It was lush!
The welcome pack was very helpful & had some really good advice on walks & local restaurants, but do book ahead, they fill up fast.
Only negative: Just be careful of the pot holes on some of the local roads. Drive slowly through those.

A fabulous time at a well loved venue - the cottages are clean and cosy set in a beautiful quiet location with great walks and local pubs on your doorstep. Hazel and hubby are fabulous hosts I can’t recommend this place highly enough.its very easy to get to nearby local villages and also historical and beauty sites like Arbor Low, Bamford Edge, Mam Tor etc. Wheeldon Hill that sits just behind the cottages has some of the loveliest views too and is a quick and easy climb to the summit.

A true gem set amongst stunning landscape. The perfect place for a relaxing stay away from the hustle and bustle. Lots of attention to detail made our short stay very comfortable and enjoyable. Would highly recommend!

Lovely luxurious cottages. We have been several times. Peaceful location and no need to use the car for a few days, except for the pub. The Long Room makes a big difference for groups, as we were able to seat 8 for dinner comfortably with plenty of crockery etc, and it would be easy to seat more if needed.

Best UK holiday cottage experience ever! We spent Christmas in Nadin Cottage and loved it. Perfect, peaceful location and as other reviewers have stated, the attention to detail elevates the whole experience. Denby crockery over the usual ikea tat, well stocked kitchen, lush toiletries, beautiful bedding, brilliantly stocked honesty shop, fab games room etc. Hazel - you have elevated cosy chic to an art form 🙌🏻🥰 We will be back x

We were fortunate to spend our Christmas holidays with our adult kids at the Wheeldon Trees' Lomas Cottage. The location was great to explore the Peak District and the communication from Hazel made it seamless to book restaurants and groceries. We look forward to staying here again.

I had visited Wheeldon Trees Cottages years ago under different ownership but was delighted to find it is still in business under new ownership and as good as ever! We stayed for a long weekend in December - it was very cold weather but the cottage was cozy. Lomas cottage was very well appointed and comfortable. Puzzled by earlier negative review left of Lomas cottage - while small, it was big enough for our family of 4 adults plus 2 dogs. Welcome pack was great and everything you could need was on site. Hazel and Steve were very friendly and helpful but left us to enjoy the cottage as well. I am sure we will be back!

Perfect family Christmas getaway We reluctantly came home yesterday after the most wonderful stay at Wheeldon. Having stumbled across it & booking very last minute to spend Christmas away after a sudden bereavement, we hoped it would provide some comfort being away from home. And it did so much more than that! With dogs & kids in tow, we couldn’t have asked for anything more! Spotlessly clean, greeted by a thoughtful welcome hamper on arrival & surrounded by the most beautiful views, we felt totally spoilt! We needed for nothing & wanted to stay another week! The games room was a lovely additional space that the children enjoyed & despite the December weather, they made good use of the little play area.
We’d love to come back & have recommended Wheeldon to all our family & friends - thank you so much!

Beautiful rugged location in Derbyshire. We love Ollerenshaw cottage for 2 but there are other bigger cottages too. Close to Buxton, Hartington, and Chatsworth Estate

Stunning cottage in beautiful location Upgraded to ‘The Farmhouse’ a couple of days before trip and WOW it did not disappoint!

Packed full of character , fabulous furnishings , log burner , luxury bathrooms and the most comfy huge beds !

Impressive attention to detail by the owners

Visited Chatsworth House , Buxton, Bakewell, plenty of very good pubs with excellent food nearby

Tote with locally sourced goodies on arrival and plenty of luxury toiletries a lovely touch !

This place is amazing. The owners have thought of everything and nothing is done on the cheap, it’s all super clean and everything you need is here.You want a quiet weekend with amazing views come here won’t regret it.

Great stay at Wheeldon Tree Cottages.I left a longer review on Trip Advisor, but thought I'd leave one here also.We had an amazing dog friendly stay (long weekend) at The Peak District, the cottages were really well equipped and on arrival we were welcomed with a bag of goodies to get us going (plus wine, milk and butter in the fridge).The location is very quiet, we went at a very quiet time and there were only 3 other cottages where it had people. There is also an honesty shop for anyone who is craving some chocolate. We will definitely come back next year when it's brighter and warmer.Our dog loved every moment of it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wheeldon Trees Cottages. Mycock cottage was very comfortable and catered for our every need. The facilities are first class including bikes available to borrow. Correspondence was excellent with Hazel notifying us when cottage was ready on arrival day.Lovely walks to be had directly from cottage with maps to guide you on your way.Very generous welcome bag provided...Thank you for a most relaxing break

Wheeldon Trees is a delightful complex of super comfortable cottages in a very pretty location. We stayed in Priestley cottage which was warm, comfortable and extremely well equipped. The Welcome Tote of goodies was very much appreciated. The cottages are within easy reach of a number of small towns - we especially liked Ashford in the Water and Bakewell. If you are lucky enough to stay on a Sunday, be sure to indulge in the roast dinner at the nearby Royal Oak pub. If you're keen to do some walks in the area, we would suggest popping into the High Peak bookstore and Cafe, which has a great selection of local guidebooks. The coffee is great too!

Another fabulous 3 night stay at Ollerenshaw Cottage, Wheeldon Trees with our black labrador Jamie. Very clean, comfortable, and warm, a great welcome pack, such a peaceful setting. Lovely walks on local trails and visited Chatsworth, Hartington and Bakewell. Enjoyed return visits to the Royal Oak, and Tagg Lane Dairy fo the best ice cream!|See you again soon!

It was an absolute delight to spend my weekend at Wheeldon trees cottages. There was four of us who were saying to go hiking for the weekend and coming back to this cottage. Genuinely was the best part of this weekend because it was pristine, Beautifully well done and in the perfect location for the peak districtWe have booked again for another weekend away already.

Accommodation of the highest standard. We visited for a family gathering and booked 4 cottages. Everything was to the highest standards, very comfortable and welcoming. It was great to have extra space to allow us to share evening meals all together.
The setting is wonderful too and we did a lovely walk from the cottages. A peaceful, beautiful place that we will return to.

Peak accomodation in the Peaks, a real gem! These cottages (including a farmhouse!) are a real gem. The location in the beautiful landscape of the Peaks is magnificent! On the map it might seem somewhat remote, but in practice you can get anywhere with ease. What strikes you when you visit is the superb attention to detail the owners put into these luxury cottages. Everything we could have wanted for was present, available, and in perfect condition. The owner’s striving for perfection is also apparent in the printed signs throughout the complex and in the cottages. They’ve a friendly tone of voice and are in the same fonts and colours the website is in. Wheeldon Trees Cottages makes us want to come back and tell our friends about it!
