Easter 2023 in the Peak District Easter 2023 will soon be upon us, so what’s…
Wheeldon Trees Spring Update
2023 is up and running, and spring is a heartbeat away, so we thought it was high time for a Wheeldon Trees update.
Firstly, a huge thank you for the 2023 bookings so far. To say we’ve been blown away is an understatement. Rest assured we’ll be working as hard as ever to ensure you enjoy your few days here in paradise.
We love a project and 2023 is already off to a cracking start.
Mycock renovation complete
Mycock Cottage’s renovation is now complete and we’re delighted to welcome the first guests. We’ve refurbished the upstairs entirely with a new vintage-style bathroom with a walk-in shower, new carpets and new soft furnishings. A new kitchen and oak flooring downstairs are scheduled for November 2023.
The list goes on
Since June 2021 we’ve also refurbished the Farmhouse, Priestley, Nadin and Ollerenshaw cottages. In addition, we’ve decorated and put new soft furnishings into the other cottages. Alongside our work in Mycock later this year we’re also planning to fully refurbish another cottage.
Further investments include:
- New wifi throughout
- Refurbished games room with a pool table
- A new luxury office with wifi and printer which anyone can use
- New electric bikes which are free for guests to use
- New flat surface for event marquees overlooking Chrome Hill
A new organic body and skincare range
It’s early days but we’re working with a local apothecary to develop our own organic products for use in the cottages. Watch out for more about this as the year develops.
Peak District 2023 season launch
It was great to attend the Peak District season launch this week. We’re on a mission to get more discount codes for our guests to use at local attractions. Last year our Chatsworth tickets went down a storm so we’re determined to hunt out more savings for visitors.
Is it possible to be more excited about someone else’s wedding than your own? We’re delighted to have our first weddings in the diary for 2024. Keep following for updates as and when we’re allowed to share. At the moment we’re just honoured to have been chosen and we’re already thinking of projects to make Wheeldon look even more stunning for the visiting guests.
Oh, yes, and we’re now award-winning
We’re delighted to say we’re now award-winning. We achieved the silver award for best accommodation at the 2023 Peak District and Derbyshire Tourism Awards. We think that’s not bad going in just 18 months of business.
Finally, if you follow us on social media, you’ll know there are another five brilliant humans in the family. We’re very proud to have a Ghurkha currently training in Nepal and a Rifleman in Wales. Number three is completing his year in industry in Malta before returning to university, number four is about to do his A Levels and the baby is mostly watching Love Island (she’ll kill us for this).
There will be more updates to follow as we cruise toward the bank holidays.
