Wheeldon Trees Cottages is much more than just holiday cottages. Dogs have the run of their own dedicated dog meadow and there are plenty of walks directly from your cottage door. Set in 12 acres of prime Peak District land, visitors can enjoy views of Chrome Hill and Dragon’s Back.
We have two dog-friendly locals. Guests at Wheeldon Trees say that our near neighbours, The Royal Oak, offer a very warm welcome to four-legged visitors. All areas of the pub are dog-friendly and they offer an amazing menu of home-cooked food for you to enjoy. Our guests love the Sunday roast menu which offers beef, lamb, pork or roast vegetarian wellington. Another local which is walkable from Wheeldon and dog-friendly are our friends at the Packhorse Inn in Crowdecote. The staff are lovely, the portions large and the draft beer very good. As a result, what’s not to love?
Wheeldon Trees Retreat
Wheeldon Trees is more than just beautiful cottages in the Peak District. Since we purchased the retreat in 2021 we have been working hard to make it the most luxurious holiday destination in Derbyshire. Our hard work seems to be paying off and we’ve just found out that we’re one of three finalists in the Visit Peak District and Derbyshire Tourism Awards in the category of best self-catering accommodation. We offer much more than just a holiday cottage. Facilities include an honesty shop, free EV charging, wifi throughout, a children’s play area, a newly refurbished games room, free electric bikes to explore the local area (updated in November 2022), a fabulous office for guests to use if they’re working while with us and a laundry room.
