Matlock’s magical Victorian Christmas Market is back bigger and better than ever in 2025.

This year is particularly special as it marks the 30th anniversary of this beloved event, promising to be the “biggest and most magical yet.” It’s the perfect day out for everyone staying with us at Wheeldon Trees, just a short drive from the heart of the action.

A Festive Wonderland for All

Matlock’s Hall Leys Park will be completely transformed into a festive spectacle with over 200 traditional stalls. You’ll be able to browse for unique gifts, handmade crafts, artisan treats, and delicious food. And don’t worry about the weather—most of the stalls are located in two extra-large marquees, so you can enjoy the market whatever the weather.

The weekend is packed with live entertainment to get you in the Christmas spirit. Enjoy returning favourites like the Seaforth Highlanders’ Pipes and Drums and the ever-popular James McKay and his Famous Owls. This year also features some exciting new tributes, including a Robbie Williams and Liam Gallagher double-act!

Fun for the Whole Family

There truly is something for every member of the family at this market. Children will love the fun fair and the chance to meet Santa in his Grotto, which is open on Saturday and Sunday. Even better, all proceeds from Santa’s Grotto will support local charities via the Matlock Derwent Valley Lions Club. Keep an eye out for roaming performers and seasonal surprises as you explore the park!

The weekend will come to a dazzling close on Sunday, December 7th at 5:30 pm, with a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the skies above the park. It’s a fitting finale to celebrate three decades of Matlock Christmas magic.
