From the tangled love stories of The Pirates of Penzance to the social satire of The Mikado, their works are a cornerstone of British theatre. A highlight of the final days is a special afternoon concert featuring some of the country’s best G&S talents. The show will be conducted by James Hendry. He will be accompanied by the brilliant National Festival Orchestra. A standout feature will be James’s brand-new “Savoy Overture”. It’s a medley of favorite tunes from seven different operettas, including The Mikado and The Pirates of Penzance. This is sure to be a rip-roaring start to the concert.

The stage will be graced by five outstanding principals from the National Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company. This will include the master of the patter song, Richard Suart. They’ll be joined by special guest star Camilla Bassett-Smith, a well-known soprano and G&S enthusiast. This promises to be a fantastic afternoon of music, laughter, and unforgettable performances.
