The Ashford Arms To Reopen After Stunning Transformation

The Ashford Arms to reopen after stunning transformation

Calling all foodies and history buffs staying at Wheeldon Trees Cottages – The Ashford Arms is set to reopen after a stunning transformation. The wait is finally over – The Ashford Arms, a charming 17th-century pub steeped in local history, will reopen its doors on Friday, March 8th following a £1.6 million redevelopment.

Location, location, location

This beautifully transformed pub boasts a prime location, nestled amidst the popular visitor hotspots of Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and Thornbridge Hall. Whether you’re exploring the Peak District’s rich history or simply seeking a relaxing escape, The Ashford Arms is the perfect place to unwind.

Step back in time with modern comfort

Stepping inside The Ashford Arms feels like stepping back in time, with its cosy ambience and inviting fireplaces. The pub features a stunning botanically-themed restaurant with captivating decor and a menu that promises pub classics with a modern twist, all crafted using fresh, local ingredients. Award-winning Chef Chris Parker leads the culinary team, ensuring a delightful dining experience.

Local hero does the honours

Adding to the excitement, The Ashford Arms will be officially re-opened by a true local hero, Bakewell Mayor Alyson Hill. Chosen through a public survey, Alyson embodies the spirit of the community and perfectly represents the pub’s commitment to celebrating its local roots.

More than just a pub

The Ashford Arms is part of a wider story of revitalisation. This project is the latest of three hospitality ventures in Derbyshire to benefit from owner Rob Hattersley’s dedication to the region. With his passion and business acumen, Rob has breathed new life into these historic establishments, creating over 180 jobs in the process.
