Organised Bonfire Night Events in the Peak District

There are plenty of organised bonfire night events to choose from this year in the Peak District.

Here’s a list of events taking place in the Peak District this year.

Eyre Arms Calver Bonfire & Fireworks on Saturday 28 October 2023

Join Eyre Arms in Calver for a magical night of bonfire and fireworks to celebrate Bonfire Night. The event raises money for Curbar Primary School!

Gates open at 5:30 pm, with the bonfire being lit at 6:30 pm and the fireworks display starting at 7 p.m. There will be pizza, a BBQ, a bar, and sparklers available to purchase.

Wrap up warm and pull on your wellies for a night of fun and excitement for all ages.

Advance tickets can be bought from local shops, pubs, and Curbar Primary School for £3 per person. Tickets will also be available at the gate, subject to availability, for £5 per person.

Buxton Rugby Club Bonfire Night on Saturday 5 November 2023

If you’re looking for a fun and family-friendly place to celebrate, the Buxton Rugby Club Bonfire Night is a great option.

The event will take place at the rugby club’s ground, Sunnyfields, Harpur Hill, Buxton, SK17 9PX. Gates open at 5.30 pm, and the bonfire will be lit at 6.30 pm. The fireworks display will begin at 7.30 pm.

In addition to the bonfire and fireworks, there will also be a variety of other activities and stalls to keep everyone entertained. These include:

  • Food and drink stalls
  • Fairground rides
  • Games and activities for children
  • Live music

Tickets are available at the gate and cost £6 per person, or £18 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children). Under 3s go free.

Eyam Bonfire and Firework Display on Saturday 5 November 2023

Saturday 5 November 2023 is the Eyam Bonfire and Firework Display, one of the most popular Bonfire Night events in the Peak District. The event is organised by the Eyam School PTFA and local community projects, and all funds raised go to support these good causes.

The event will take place at the Hawkhill Playing Fields in Eyam, Derbyshire. Gates open at 5.30 pm, and there will be a variety of food and drink stalls open, as well as fairground rides and games for children.

At 6.15 pm, the torch-lit procession of the infamous ‘Willow RAT’ will leave Eyam Square and make its way to the playing fields. The RAT is a nod to Eyam’s dark history during the plague, and burning it on the bonfire is a symbolic gesture of moving on from the past.

The bonfire will be lit at 6.30 pm, and the fireworks display will begin at 7.30 pm. The display is set to music and features a variety of different effects, making it a truly spectacular sight to see.

Tickets for the event are available at the gate and cost £8 for adults and £4 for children (2-15). Under 2s go free.

Edale Bonfire and Fireworks on Saturday 5 November 2023

On Saturday 5 November 2023, the picturesque village of Edale in the Peak District will come alive for the annual Bonfire and Fireworks event. This popular event is a great way to celebrate Bonfire Night with family and friends, and it’s always a well-attended affair.

The event takes place on the playing field next to the main car park and village hall. Gates open at 5.30 pm, and there will be a variety of food and drink stalls open, as well as fairground rides and games for children.

At 6 p.m., the bonfire will be lit, and at 7 pm, the fireworks display will begin. The display is set to music and features a variety of different effects, making it a truly spectacular sight to see.

Family and Dog-Friendly Bonfire Night at Thornbridge Hall on Saturday 5 November 2023

On Saturday 5 November 2023, Thornbridge Hall in the Peak District will be hosting a family and dog-friendly Bonfire Night event. This is the perfect opportunity to celebrate Bonfire Night with all the family, including your furry friends!

The event will take place from 6 pm to 9 pm, and there will be a variety of activities to keep everyone entertained. These include:

  • A bonfire to toast marshmallows and warm up by
  • Sparklers for everyone
  • A children’s entertainer
  • Face painting
  • Food and drink stalls
  • Live music from a local band

And of course, there will be a spectacular fireworks display at the end of the night.

Tickets for the event are £10 per person, and children under 16 go free. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times.

Sterndale Moor Community Bonfire and Fireworks Display on Saturday 12 November 2023

On Saturday 12 November 2023, the Sterndale Moor Community Bonfire and Fireworks Display will take place at the Sterndale Moor Village Hall and Playing Fields.

The event will start at 6 pm with gates opening and food and drink stalls opening. There will also be a variety of children’s activities available, including a bouncy castle, face painting, and games.

The bonfire will be lit at 7 pm, and the fireworks display will start at 7.30 pm. The fireworks display is set to music and features a variety of different effects, making it a truly spectacular sight to see.

Tickets for the event are £6 per person, or £18 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children). Under 3s go free. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.

The remaining five cottages – Sheldon, Walker’s Rest, Critchlow, Elliott and Lomas were all rated 4-Star Gold. In addition, TripAdvisor recently named Wheeldon Trees in the top 10% of places to stay in the world. Thanks to our visitors’ amazing reviews, we were delighted to be awarded the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award 2023 for the second year running. To complete the hat trick, we were also the runner-up in best self-catering accommodation at this year’s Visit Peak District and Derbyshire Tourism Awards.
