5 things to do in the Peak District in June

There’s lots of things to do in the Peak District this June. At the beginning of the month, it’s all about the Queen’s Jubilee but the fun doesn’t stop there.

Here is our guide to 5 things to do this June in the Peak District National Park.

5 things to do in June

1.Jubilee Round Up

The beginning of June is all about the Queen’s Jubilee. Here’s a few of our favourites.

Thursday 2 June – guided walking tour of Bakewell from the river to the Old House Museum. About an hour and a quarter, and half a mile long, starting 1.30pm. Meet Visitor Centre. Cost £5 adult, children and dogs go free. Money goes to the museum charity. Contact museum (01629 813642) to save £1 on combined ticket for walking tour and museum entry.

Friday 3 June – Jubilee Street Party, Church Street/Main Street, Youlgrave. 10am-5pm. Youlgrave Silver Band playing from 2pm. Bring your families, friends and a picnic – all welcome.

Friday 3 June – our local village Hartington celebrates the Queen’s Jubilee. Expect a scarecrow competition and family treasure hunt.

Saturday 4 June – The magical gardens of Bonsall, 10am-5pm. Sixteen beautiful, quirky and unique gardens of the village of Bonsall will be open to visitors. £5 for adults and children are free. Refreshments available on the magical journey throughout your trip, both in gardens and at the two pubs and café. All proceeds go towards charitable village projects. Further information

2.Use our discounted tickets to visit the Heights of Abraham

Wheeldon Trees has partnered with Derbyshire attraction the Heights of Abraham to offer discounted tickets to guests. Guests of Wheeldon Trees can receive a 20% discount off the normal adult and child cable car tickets. The tickets are valid for visits and purchases until 31 July 2022.

The Heights of Abraham is an award-winning hilltop park attraction.  Certainly, the most dramatic way to approach any of the Derbyshire caves – your experience begins with a cable car ride from Matlock Bath taking you high across the valley to the top of the Heights of Abraham. Each cable car ticket gives you free admission to all the facilities at the top. This includes 60 acres of landscaped grounds, exhibition areas and the Masson Pavilion Film Theatre.
